An 85-year-old woman was attacked during a home invasion in Carletonville last week.

The incident took place at the woman’s residence on Vaal Street, near Laerskool Jongspan, on October 21.

The elderly resident was inside her home around 11:00 when she heard a loud noise coming from the front door.

When she went to investigate, five unknown men forced their way inside.

Granny blindfolded

The attackers grabbed her and covered her head with a blanket before ransacking the house.

They took several items, including jewelry and clothing, which they loaded into a silver Hyundai before fleeing the scene.
