Carletonville man pepper-sprayed and hijacked outside restaurant

Police later recovered the stolen car in Khutsong.

A resident was hijacked in the Carletonville CBD over the past weekend.

The crime took place on Friday night, November 7.

The resident (36) relaxed at Marcellos Restaurant in Osmium Street and decided to go home at approximately 22:30.

As he arrived at his vehicle, two unknown men approached him. They demanded that he hand them his cellphone and then sprayed him with pepper spray.

He collapsed, and they searched his pockets. The thugs grabbed his wallet and car keys and then sped off in his vehicle.

Luckily, the police later recovered it in Khutsong.
