Carletonville couple tied up in violent early-morning house robbery

A 35-year-old Carletonville man and his girlfriend are recovering after five knife-wielding robbers attacked and tied them up during a house robbery in Orpiment Street in the early hours of February 27.

A Carletonville couple is recovering after being attacked by robbers in their home on February 27.

The incident happened at approximately 01:30 at a house on Orpiment Street near the tennis courts.

The 35-year-old resident went outside to investigate after hearing a strange noise at his gate. As he went outside, he was grabbed by five unknown men.

The suspects, all armed with knives, forced the man back into his house. Once inside, the gang tied up the man and his girlfriend before searching the property for valuables.

The robbers fled on foot after taking several items, including cellphones, jewellery, and various tools.
