Khutsong resident confronts armed intruders during late-night house robbery

Victim wakes to masked suspects inside home as Carletonville police launch investigation

A man watching a house in Khutsong Extension 5 came eye to eye with armed robbers this week.

The man was sleeping inside a friend’s home in the 70s on April 12.

He suddenly woke up at 01:00 and realised that there were two unknown men in his room, which did not have a door.

The thugs were masked, and one was armed.

They spoke Setswana and Sesotho.

They started to ransack the house and grabbed cellphones and groceries.

They then ran away. The victim later discovered that they had gained entry through the living room window.

The police in Carletonville are investigating a house robbery.
