TAKE CARE OF YOUR FURRY FRIENDS THIS WINTER

Could you imagine stepping out in the cold without a sweater or a warm jacket? What about your pet?
The time between May and August is bitterly cold, not only for us but for our dear pets too. It is, therefore, our responsibility to think about their safety and comfort in the winter chill. No matter what kind of pet they are, they will get cold, regardless of their size. Avoid exposing them to the chill so they don’t catch a cold.
Especially after the devastating impact of Covid-19, many animal shelters struggle to keep their animals safe, fed, and warm during winter. Help your local shelter survive the icy temperatures by either making a donation or adopting a new furry friend. Make life a little easier for animal shelters by donating pet food or warm blankets. Shelters often run low on food and supplies to feed and care for their precious pets. This could be some-thing as simple as tinned food, or you could opt for something extra special like treats, gravy or food bowls. It would be helpful to provide blankets, towels, or dog jerseys to keep the animals in their care warm throughout the colder months.
If you don’t have any to spare, why not buy a few? There are many different offers on winter warmers, so you’re likely to find a few blankets at an affordable price in just about any store. With the bitterly cold temperatures dropping, blankets, hot water bottles and food would greatly assist during this time.
All donations can be dropped off at the Carletonville SPCA in Beerster Street, Pick n Pay Carletonville and Jolan Jewelers in Carletonville Centre.
It is also helpful for pet owners to keep the numbers of local veterinarian’s on hand.
