Harley Davidson raffle in aid of Doreen’s Door of Hope Centre
Everyone is invited to join the raffle – it’s for a wonderful cause.
FIVE women, who have each been through difficult ordeals, are running a Harley Davidson raffle in aid of Doreen’s Door of Hope Center (DDHC). Everyone is invited to join the raffle – it’s for a wonderful cause.
DDHC is a non-profit organisation, founded in honour of the founder’s late mother, who passed away from oesophagus cancer last year. The founder, Abigail Runganaikulu, nominated four other dynamic women who have survived great challenges themselves to help her on this mission. These women have taken their brokenness and decided to use it positively to give back to people who are experiencing even worse trauma than them.
DDHC believes that everyone deserves a second chance to be inspired and supported, and for action to speak louder than words. They plan do this, with lots of love, by creating a “home away from home”-concept that will support the local schools with feeding schemes, mobile clinics (to bring an awareness of health issues) and workshops that will inspire and empower.
Empowering a community will require a stable structure for people to come to when in need. DDHC is in the process of developing a land to do just that.
The raffle to win a Harley Davidson 2008 Sportster 1200 Custom is run by these five women – Abigail Runganaikulu (founder of the raffle), Tharina Stoltz, Savina Naidoo, Charmaine Naidoo and Charmaine Bernet.
The women will host the raffle at the end of each month at various malls around Johannesburg, until the draw for the winner takes place on October 27. On Friday, July 6, the raffle already sold over 80 tickets at Mall of the South.
The funds from this raffle will go towards the initiatives that DDHC aims to complete. A ticket costs R350 each, but it worth the price if it gives one the chance to win that beautiful Harley bike!
