The Glen Shopping Centre appreciative of taxi association’s efforts

“Going forward, we will continue to collaborate with the association, SAPS and the local CPF."

During the recent riots and looting, The Glen Shopping Centre formed a partnership with its community to keep the shopping centre safe.

“One of our biggest partnerships was with the Faraday Taxi Association. We thank the association for its support during the unrest and will continue with the partnership,” explained Prianka Singh, marketing manager of The Glen Shopping Centre.

She said this is not the first time they have partnered with the association.

General manager of The Glen Shopping Centre Glen Maboe said that the association is part of the Glen community and they were proud to be associated with it on this occasion.

The mall’s objective is also to have an open partnership, where when any opportunity presents itself to collaborate with any sector of the community, it will do just that.

“During the looting, we engaged with the taxi association to assist us in looking after the centre and it responded positively. The association assisted us with patrolling to secure the area. We wanted to acknowledge it for its efforts.

“Going forward, we will continue to collaborate with the association, SAPS and the local CPF. Our good security measures allowed us to stay on top of what was happening and to keep the mall, our tenants and our customers safe during this time,” he said.

Singh told the COURIER that the partnership will not be limited to safety but will also extend to other areas.
