Stepping Stone Hospice’s annual golf day raises much-needed funds

Golfers took to the greens as Stepping Stone Hospice hosted their 10 Years of Affirming Life Golf Day at the Reading Country Club on June 29.

Stepping Stone Hospice hosted their annual charity golf day at the Reading Country Club on a four-ball format, which saw a record number of 132 golfers tee off while celebrating the momentous day.

After a beautiful day on the course, the event was concluded with an amazing prize-giving event, with SA former boxing champ Harold Volbrecht gracing attendees with his presence.

From a spectacular dinner to lovely music, auctions of remarkable items and unique photographs, as well as raffles, local businesses and attendees, enjoyed the evening.

Tersia Burger, CEO of Stepping Stone Hospice, said: “It’s our 10-year of existence celebration as Hospice this year and it’s really a special golf day. There were quite a few businesses that generously sponsored us and had competitions for us. We’re grateful to all our sponsors, the prize winners, to our volunteers and the players for supporting us the way they did.”

She said the golf day was their main fundraiser of the year and was a massive success.
