DEMS cautions locals about heatwave
The CoE’s DEMS urged the community to protect themselves during the hot weather.

The CoE’s DEMS issued an advisory as the hot weather prevails across the city.
Those who work in scorching environments should wear light and appropriate clothing to protect themselves from the heatwave.
William Ntladi, the DEMS spokesperson, urged residents to stay hydrated to avoid medical complications.
“Regarding the heatwave experienced around the city and across the country, we advise locals to stay out of the sun [avoid going outdoors]. This advisory is on behalf of Ekurhuleni’s DEMS, in close contact with the South African Weather Service,” he said.
He urged community members to be vigilant with open fires because the strong winds can cause damage if an open flame is left unattended.
