Various stakeholders surprised the Ward 57 community with food parcels on April 2.
The senior citizens received over 400 food parcels.
Clr Faeeza Chame thanked the MMC of Community Development, Clr Lubabalo Magwentshu, Urban Management (CRUM), the Department of Social Development and the sponsors for making this possible.
“Food parcels were distributed to the elderly in the ward. I hope this won’t be a once-off. Our elderly cannot survive on the SASSA pension alone. They need any help they can get,” she said.
