Teen (18) faces murder charges after Mondeor stabbing
The court has expressed concern over slow police investigations following the fatal stabbing of a teenager at the Ballbreakers pool hall.
An 18-year-old faces murder charges after stabbing another 18-year-old at the Ballbreakers pool hall in Mondeor on April 5.
The accused appeared in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on June 13, which postponed the case to July 30 for further investigation.
Magistrate Habib expressed concern over lengthy postponements, saying, “I don’t like to hand out lengthy postponements because the investigating officer will take too long.” Despite this, bail was extended, and the case will continue on the new date.
The extra time allows investigators to gather more evidence, but the magistrate’s remarks highlight the urgent need for timely investigations to ensure justice is served.
