Free Saturday Maths and IT classes for youth by Believers Care Society
Participants will gain essential skills in IT and receive certificates of attendance after completing 36 hours of computer literacy lessons over 12 Saturdays.
Believers Care Society- Centre of Excellence for Youth Development, through the Christian Missionaries Assembly Church presents a Saturday empowerment programme for the youth in high school.
Programmes are for the Grade 10 and Grade 11 learners. The purpose is to provide a supportive environment for the pupils to excel in mathematics and information technology.
In the current age, access to information through the knowledge of IT is no longer a choice but a prerequisite to economic opportunities and academic excellence.
The classes are conducted as a life skills programme, and those who completed 36 hours for 12 Saturdays in three months for the computer literacy lessons will receive a certificate of attendance.
The church plays an integral in the academic and spiritual development of the younger generations. They teach the youth to use their free time structured and productively, as many vices happen when they have free time.
The curriculum will cover Bible study, mathematics sessions and computer literacy classes. Computer classes will be for three months, and maths classes are ongoing. All the classes are free.
To qualify for maths classes, you must be in grades 10 and 11. To qualify for the computer lessons, you must be in grades nine, 10 or 11.
Days of attendance are Saturdays only from 09:00 to noon. School holiday classes will be scheduled subsequently. Classes will resume on October 19.
Registration is at the Believers Care Society offices at 118 High Street, Turffontein.
Note that they have limited space.
