Nova Pioneer Ormonde, a pan-African network offering the Cambridge curriculum, celebrated exceptional academic achievements as learners completed their Cambridge examinations.

From stellar AS and A-level results to exceptional IGCSE performance, the 2024-2025 academic year has proven to be of remarkable dedication and success.

Celebrating excellence and hard work

The school was thrilled to acknowledge the achievements of its learners, who collectively earned an impressive 43 A and B symbols across AS and A-level subjects.

Among the standout performers is Sumia Mahmood, an exceptional AS-level learner preparing to pursue a BSc in chemistry with a chemical engineering option at the University of Witwatersrand.

“Even with the stress and pressure of being a five-subject warrior, I am delighted that my hard work, coupled with the support from my teachers, family, and closest friends, has paid off,” said Mahmood.

Samukelisiwe Nkwanyana, another top achiever, reflected on her time at Nova Pioneer.

She said her journey has been a rollercoaster, presenting challenges that have shaped her resilience.

“I am grateful to my coach, friends, and teachers for expanding my mind and pushing my limits beyond what I thought possible,” said Samukelisiwe.

IGCSE learners soar to new heights

Nova Pioneer also celebrated the outstanding performance of its IGCSE learners.

With 27 A grades, 70 Bs, and 71 Cs, these students have not only met but surpassed expectations. The results have left many feeling a sense of pride and excitement for the opportunities ahead.

Lindiwe Mashabane, who achieved 3 As and 3 Bs, recalled the emotional journey leading up to her results.

“I was anxious before seeing my results, but when I saw them, I was incredibly excited. It felt rewarding to know all the hard work had paid off. I am grateful for the support I received from everyone,” Lindiwe said.

School leadership reflects on academic success

Theuns Opperman, the school leader for Nova Pioneer Ormonde Senior, expressed pride in the performances of the learners.

Opperman said the learners have once again achieved exceptional results.

“We will soon compare our learners’ performance with global standards, and we are confident they will continue to exceed expectations,” Opperman stated.

Preparing learners for a future beyond the classroom

As Nova Pioneer’s learners reach the final stages of their A-levels and prepare to embark on their next academic journey, the school remains focused on providing holistic support.

The COO of the school, Rahel Wondwossen, highlighted the role of the post-school success (PSS) team and the psycho-social support team in guiding learners through their future choices.

“The PSS team equips learners with practical tools and insights for making informed decisions about their future. We focus on each learner’s unique strengths and ambitions, ensuring they are prepared for higher education and the professional world,” Wondwossen said.

“As we celebrate these young achievers, Nova Pioneer continues to forge a path of academic and personal development, propelling our learners toward becoming the leaders and innovators the world needs,” Opperman concluded.
