Townsview SDA Church hosts career day to inspire youth

Townsview SDA Church empowers young minds with career guidance to help them make informed choices for the future.

Townsview Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a career day on June 14, aimed at empowering young people with knowledge and guidance as they begin considering their future paths.

“The purpose of hosting the career day was to help our children gain an understanding of what they want to become,” said Leon Williams, a church member and one of the organisers.

“We want them to have enough information and knowledge before they make the wrong choices.”

The day featured professionals from various fields, including a councillor, sheriff, lawyer, and teacher, among others.

Although not all the invited speakers were able to attend, Williams said the event still provided meaningful insights into different career paths.

The initiative was well received by both learners and their parents.

“The parents were happy about the knowledge that was shared,” Williams said.

Townsview SDA Church plans to host similar events in future, creating more opportunities for young people to explore career options and gain direction.

“We are here to support our young ones. If anyone needs career guidance, our doors are open,” Williams concluded.
