Her owner, Sue Green, shared the heartbreaking news. “It is with a heavy heart I share the passing of JOY Dog Yola,” she said. “She was semi-retired and went on as many outings as she could. She hated to be left behind and will be sorely missed.”

Yola had a peaceful final day, surrounded by love. “After a really bad night, not eating breakfast and a day spent lying down, she was unable to get up again and said it was time to go,” Sue explained. “Dave Erasmus from Kibler Park Vet (the kindest man I know) assisted with her passing, and it was done peacefully.”
Yola leaves behind her furry companions, Orion and Jade, who are also feeling her absence deeply.

“The house has an empty feeling now,” Sue added. “Reminders of her are all around.”
Yola was known as one of the most well-travelled dogs in South Africa, visiting all nine provinces during her time with Dulux. Her visits brought happiness to thousands, whether at schools, events, or community gatherings. “She brought thousands of smiles to thousands of people,” said Sue.
“She is now running around with the former JOY Dogs Jazmine, Oscar and Yogi, and will be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.”
Yola’s legacy will live on in the many lives she touched and the joy she spread wherever she went.
