Love From Above delivers more than lunch to retirement village
The team prepared and delivered hundreds of meals, reminding everyone that small acts of care can make a big difference.
Annie Burger Retirement Village received a special visit when Love From Above organised and led a generous lunch run for its elderly residents.
The initiative, led by Keshini Govender, was the group’s second sandwich run. Together with a dedicated team, they prepared and packaged over 300 sandwiches. Each meal also included juice, chips, and fruit, all carefully packed and delivered with love.
“This wasn’t just about handing out food; it was about showing up for members of our community who often quiet their own needs,” said managing director of Love From Above, Termayne Sivpersad.

The team spent time with the residents, listening to their stories and learning from their experiences. “Spending time with the residents reminded us how meaningful simple acts of care can be,” Sivpersad added.
The visit offered more than just nourishment; it created moments where the team could connect with the elderly. The seniors shared stories full of history and wisdom. Sivpersad highlighted, “These interactions were a vivid reminder that caring for the elderly is about honouring their lives and acknowledging their contributions to the community.”
Residents expressed deep appreciation, but what stood out most was their shared joy of being seen, heard, and valued.

Keshini Govender’s leadership played a key role in the success of the event. Her compassion and commitment showed how one person’s effort can inspire greater community care.
“She reminded us that caring for our community is not only a moral responsibility but also a means of building intergenerational connections that strengthen society as a whole,” said Sivpersad.
Through this lunch run, Love From Above proved that small acts of kindness can create lasting memories and uphold the dignity of others.
