Johannesburg South artist turns life story into live music experience

The artist Charnté Eseyin is preparing to share her faith journey through a special live recording that she highlighted is rooted in testimony, worship and God's faithfulness.

Local gospel artist Charnté Heart Eseyin is preparing to share her faith journey through a special live recording that she highlighted is rooted in testimony, worship and God’s faithfulness.

Known for her heartfelt worship and growing online ministry, Charnté Eseyin has become a familiar name among gospel music followers in Johannesburg South and beyond. While her journey began in Paarl, Cape Town, she has built her life and ministry in Johannesburg, where she continues to inspire people through music and the message of Jesus Christ.

A calling shaped by faith

Raised in a Christian home, Charnté shared that she always believed her musical talent was meant to glorify God. Her greatest influence was her late mother, Harrieth Pietersen, a devoted worshipper whose love for God left a lasting impact on her life.

“My mother was my greatest inspiration. She was a powerful and anointed singer who loved God with all her heart. She inspired me to become the woman and worshipper I am today, and her lessons continue to guide me even in her absence,” said Charnté.

Married to Emmanuel Eseyin and a mother of two daughters, Charnté describes herself first and foremost as a worshipper. Her music reflects her personal experiences, challenges and victories while encouraging others to deepen their relationship with God.

“I describe my music as Spirit-filled, truthful and deep. Every song is created to touch hearts and bring people closer to God. I want listeners to find comfort, strength and hope through their own spiritual journey,” she explained.

Although she has enjoyed success as a television presenter on major youth programmes across Africa and performed on some of the continent’s biggest stages, Charnté shared that her greatest achievement has been reaching people through social media.

“My TikTok worship sessions and live broadcasts have undoubtedly become the highlight of my career. Many souls have been saved and people from different backgrounds have come to know Jesus Christ through these platforms. That reinforces my purpose here on Earth.”

More than a concert

On June 6, Charnté will host Psalms of Charnté – Chapter 1 at Every Nation Rosebank Church in Randburg, where she will be joined by legendary gospel artists for a live recording experience.

However, she emphasised that the event is much more than a concert.

“Psalms of Charnté – Chapter 1 was never just an event; it was a prayer in motion. From the silent tears, the late-night rehearsals, the warfare, the healing and the moments where giving up felt easier, God remained faithful through it all. This is a testimony. A surrender. A chapter written by grace,” she said.

Attendees can expect an evening focused on authentic worship rather than entertainment.

The event will also challenge worshippers to reflect on a simple but powerful question.

“The message God is asking His people is, ‘What do you have to say about Me?’ We often use the words of those who came before us in the Bible to express our love for God, but what is our personal Psalm to Him?” she said.

While Charnté remains tight-lipped about possible surprises on the night, she hinted that attendees will not be disappointed.

As she counts down to the live recording, Charnté hopes those who attend will leave with a deeper understanding of worship and a renewed connection with God. “I want people to know what it means to worship God in spirit and in truth.”

Supporters can follow Charnté Heart Eseyin on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, while her music is available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube and iTunes.
