
During the past week, several businesses were closed down and some owners were charged with theft.
Mayor Sechele Sebolai warns that these measures will continue and that both businesses’ and residents’ electricity meters will be checked for signs of bridging.

He said that they know some of their employees are involved, but they are building cases against them and they will soon be removed. He urged residents with bridged meters to come forward so that the meters could be corrected.
“The money we lose due to theft can be used to improve our infrastructure and to fix potholes and streetlights.”
