Bela-Bela‘s Antioch River Church was scheduled to host a drug-prevention initiative next Wednesday 29 August.

Antioch River Church leader, Pastor Dimakatso Jane Thema, said the event would be run in conjunction with local social development authorities, the police, SPORTEX and the Bela-Bela Local Municipality.

On the agenda would be the burning community issues of substance abuse, school drop-outs, teenage pregnancy and crime prevention.

The church was established in 2015 to lend a hand in fighting the scourge of substance abuse in the streets of Bela-Bela.

The event was scheduled to take place at the Antioch River Church, which is situated in the Skierlik section of the township in Bela-Bela.

The event would start at 8:00.
