Municipal spokesperson, Kabelo Mosito, confirmed damning allegations that a furious resident had splashed a highly flammable liquid into the premises, forcing office staff and some ratepayers
to flee for dear life.
An unnamed suspect was expected to appear before the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s on Tuesday 5 November. He was relleased on bail for R500 and will appear on Tuesday 19 November.
“All I can say is that a man has been arrested for the incident, and the case is with the police while investigation continue, and all affected personnel have been given counselling and medical attention,” he said.
Bela-Bela police spokesperson, Sergeant Frans Maponya, confirmed that a man was arrested and appeared before the Bela-Bela Magistrate Court on Tuesday 5 November.
