Action SA party launches first Bela-Bela branch

The Action SA party took a bold step on Sunday 15 January to become contenders on the political front during the first Action SA branch launch in Zuma View in the Bela-Bela Township.

Herman Mashaba, a respected businessman and party founder, is known for his stance on the national value chain, progress, and service delivery and that corruption must be ended by way of voting against the ruling party.

There are a number of residents in Bela-Bela that share his vision.

Cathy de Vos, Action SA Waterberg South regional secretary, said before the launch on Sunday, party representatives managed to recruit close to 100 new members within two hours.
She said the party members are aware of the issues in Zuma View, where residents experience regular water and electricity shortages. A lack of housing is another problem that needs urgent attention.

Archie Fouché, a local resident, avalied himself to become the representative of Action SA in Bela-Bela.

“Action SA is not happy with what we saw when we conducted our door-to-door campaign. The party wants to take serious action and ensure that the community is attended to. We will be seeking answers to many outstanding issues from the past three decades,” said De Vos.

One particular outspoken resident and party representative is Archie Fouché, who resides in Ward 1.

He told The Post that with the party now firmly invested in the community, the members will attempt to take the ruling party to task.

“I availed myself as party representative and committed myself to not make empty promises. The public’s need for correct and relevant information on municipal level is very
important. By knocking regularly on the municipality’s door, change can happen,” said Fouché.

“We believe that every resident is relevant and important. Residents in town, in the township and on the small holdings that form the municipal area, are not satisfied with the way things are going.”

Fouché says the party knows they have a long way ahead of them before they can go to the polls for the national and municipal elections in 2024 and 2025.

The party’s current local branch representatives are Gladys Lekalakala (branch chairperson), Johannes Mokwele (branch secretary), Simon Nkuna, Anna Mokona, Sello Moima, Thabang Ringane, Portia Leremi, Margaret Chauke, Catherine Mojela, Andronica Morulane, Sarah Morele, Maria Molebatsi, Johannes Molepe, Humbulani Mulaudzi, Karabo Mabidilala, and Nako Mabotja.
