The three accused of the Phala Phala break-in and theft appeared in the Bela-Bela Magistrate's Court on Friday 10 November again.
The court granted bail to Froliana Joseph and David Joseph who are facing charges of three accounts of break-in and theft at Phala Phala farm. However, they must adhere to strict conditions.
Froliana’s bail is set at an amount of R5000, while her passport will remain in police custody. She must refrain from speaking to any witnesses and is not permitted to leave Bela-Bela without informing the police. David Joseph’s bail is set at R10 000, his passport will stay in police custody, and is not allowed to talk to any witnesses. He may not leave Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth), without informing the Police.
The first accused, Imanuwela David’s lawyer was not present at the hearing, but the Joseph’s lawyer, Mr. Koena Matlala represented David for the day. David’s formal bail application will be on the 6th of December. The case is postponed until then and David will remain in custody.
