Ward councillor Freddy Hlungwane graced the occasion on behalf of Bela-Bela Mayor Jeremia Ngobeni.

A delegastion from #100 kids to varsity movement also attended.

“When you are well educated, you are qualified to open all the doors or handle all the obstacles thrown at you. I was born and bred in Bela-Bela, and I have now achieved what I never in my life thought I would,” Hlungwane said.

He paid tribute to the town’s former municipal manager, Morris Maluleka, who he said was a shining example of the benefits of a good education.

He said Maluleka could apply and succeed at a job anywhere in the country.

Maluleka is presently the municipal manager at the Madibeng Local Municipality in the North West town of Brits.

“If you want to become a better person tomorrow, start building yourself today. It is not too late even to those who got stuck somewhere in their lives,” Hlungwane said.

Education circuit manager, Makoma Thabethe, said he wished the learners the best during the 12-day camp.
