The elimination rounds of the Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor’s Cup are approaching the final straight, with teams from Mookgophong expected to square off on Saturday 7 July.

The elimination rounds of the Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor’s Cup are approaching the final straight, with teams from Mookgophong expected to square off on Saturday 7 July.

A total of four teams, namely TST Academy, Naboom Chiefs, Junior Stars FC and Roedtan FC, will compete in the knockout stages to decide which two of the teams proceed to the quarter-finals,
which will be held at Modimolle’s Ephraim Mogale Stadium on a yet to be announced date.

The Mookgophong leg of the knockout stages were scheduled for Mookgophong Extension 2 Grounds, with a draw expected to be conducted on the spot at the venue of the anticipated showdown.

The four teams will do battle in the semi-finals on Saturday, with two of them advancing into the final on Sunday 8 July.

Firefighters FC from Alma has already joined Happy Boys FC and Modimolle Masters FC as the teams who have already confirmed their place in the quarterfinals stages of the competition.

Out of the five Vaalwater teams, a further two teams will also advance to the quarter-finals after the knockouts which are set to take place in coming weeks.

At the lower Modimolle LFA league, La Masia FC and Di Maria FC, will lock horns, to determine which team proceeds to the quarter-finals.
