Pule paid homage to his late coach, Van Reenen Cloete, and said that Van laid a solid foundation in his athletics training. He expressed his pride and disbelief in breaking a record, stating,
“It was overwhelming and exciting. I have to thank my current coach, Thinus van der Heever who took over from Van and motivated the athletes to carry on training and for his input to perform at my level best. I must thank my parents for their unwavering support.”
Thinus van der Heever, an educator and sports organizer at Hoërskool Warmbad, commented on Pule’s achievement, highlighting that Pule serves as proof that hard work, dedication, and perseverance can lead to reaching one’s goals.
