Book now: Birding Weekend with James Rawdon at Thanda Safari

Get up close and personal with birds at the 5-star private game reserve.

Twitchers and budding bird enthusiasts are in for a treat as local bird conservationist, James Rawdon will be back for a 5th Bird Ringing Weekend at Thanda Safari from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 February.

Back by popular demand, A Birding Weekend with James Rawdon, promises to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Rawdon, who obtained his bird-ringing license in 2012, considers Thanda Safari, situated 23km north of Hluhluwe in KZN, the ideal environment to see the plethora of birds living amongst the Big Five at the private game reserve.

Enjoy the unique opportunity to see first-hand how wild birds – including migratory birds – are caught, ringed and released. Capturing these special moments is Thanda’s resident wildlife photographer, Christian Sperka, who will take bird and “guest with bird” photos.
