Idris Elba gives some insight on DJing at Meghan and Harry’s wedding

American actor and part-time DJ Idris Elba has recently revealed that the set he played at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in 2018 was “a lot of pressure”.

Talking to Daily Mail, the actor expressed that this experience was like no other, and because Harry and Meghan are his good friends, he was under a lot of pressure to make their big day amazing.

“This wasn’t like my cousin’s wedding. This [reception] wasn’t at the community hall… This was a big, big deal,” said Elba.

He went on to explain: “Harry and Meghan are good friends and I wanted to make sure they had a great time, so there was a lot of pressure. Meghan had sent me a playlist, so I knew what she wanted already.”

The Queen and Camilla’s ongoing beef

When Prince Charles and Camilla tied the knot in 2005, Queen Elizabeth II had apparently initially refused to have any interaction with Camilla, according to investigative author and journalist Tom Bower.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Bower said: “For years, both the queen and her mother had refused to have anything to do with Charles’ mistress.

“Not only did they not want her present at any royal function, either formal or informal; they actively disapproved of her, and of Charles’ relationship with her.”

According to Bower, after Princess Diana’s tragic passing, Charles pleaded with his mother to be civil and open to Camilla, but he was met with a rather harsh response from the queen, who told him that she wanted nothing to do with Camilla.

“He asked that she soften her antagonism so he could live openly with Camilla…She vented her anger that he had lied about his relationship with what she called ‘that wicked woman’, and added: ‘I want nothing to do with her.’” said Bower to Daily Mail.

Meghan Markle still using her royal title

It was recently reported that Meghan Markle had been calling US senators to lobby them on the issue of paid parental leave, weeks after she wrote a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the exact subject matter.

Speaking to Politico, Senator Shelly Moore Capito, a Republican from West Virginia said that during an abrupt phone call with Markle, she began the call by stating and making it clear that she was Meghan Markle, “the Duchess of Sussex”.

“I’m in my car. I’m driving. It says caller ID blocked … and she goes, ‘Senator Capito?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ She said, ‘This is Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.’” said the Senator.

Susan Collins, a Republican senator for Maine, said she had the same experience with the mother of two when she called her on her private line.

“Much to my surprise, she called me on my private line and introduced herself as the Duchess of Sussex, which is kind of ironic,” said Collins.

Princess Charlene returns to Monaco

The royal princess of Monaco has finally returned back home to her family after being stuck in South Africa for over six months due to an ear, nose and throat infection.

Charlene underwent many procedures for her infection but complications arose which kept prohibiting her from travelling back to Monaco.

Her initial reason for coming to South Africa was to check up on her foundation’s work and to spend some time with her brother and loved ones.
