Shudufhadzo Musiḓa’s reign as Miss South Africa 2020 may have come to an end, but the journey to being crowned Miss World has just begun for her.
Following the South African government’s decision to withdraw its support for the Miss South Africa Organisation, due to reigning Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane heading to Israel to compete in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant, the organisation took to social media to announce that the 25-year-old Musiḓa would be representing South Africa at the Miss World 2021 beauty pageant to be held next month.
“A new journey begins for our Miss World South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musiḓa, as she heads to Puerto Rico! One month to go” said the organisation.
The pageant will be held at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on 16 December 2021, and 83 stunning contestants will battle it out on stage, with winner being crowned by Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica.
Shudu was crowned Miss South Africa 2020, and was the first Miss SA titleholder from the province of Limpopo.
A serial achiever, the former Miss SA took to social media earlier this year to announce that she had graduated and received her honours in international relations from Wits University.
Shortly after that, she took to social media to announce that she had written her first children’s book, which deals with bullying and overcoming struggles from a young age.
“I am filled with so much pride and joy to present this book authored by myself with beautiful illustrations by Chantelle and Burgen Thorne.
“A piece of my heart captured on a page, written especially for kids. A story of struggles and hope. Of falling down and getting back up and of the incredible journey we call life,” said the author.
