Stop-and-search leads to arrests

The Katlehong police conducted a stop-and-search operation, which led to the arrest of four suspects.

Four suspects were arrested in Katlehong last Monday as a result of a stop-and-search operation held in the area.

The operation was conducted by officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

The accused were arrested for a number of different offences.

Charges included:

• Murder: 1

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 2

• Malicious damage to property: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Tambo appealed to the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area without fear of being targeted by the offenders.
