2023’s most beautiful drive – the Cape 1000 Classic
It will be graced by, among others, a '57 Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster and a '35 Bentley "Blue Train" and of course, beautiful scenery.
The event is scheduled for March 19 to 24, 2023. The organisers have added a new category – Specials. It will cater for the so called RestoMod or Recreation vehicles.
Among the entries will be a 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe “Continuation”, a 1933 Ford Model B Pickup RestoMod and a 1956 Porsche 365 Speedster Recreation.
The event will start at the V&A Waterfront and will offer participants four days of driving – 60% will be touring and 40% will take the form of a regularity race.
The categories are:
• 1927-1957: Tribute
• Pre-1976: Classic
• 1977-1996: Modern Classic
• 1997-current: Sports
• Restomod/Recreation
The Motorsport Legends Benevolent Fund and Quadpara Association of South Africa (QASA) will be beneficiaries of this event.
