Resort addresses footage and insurance processes

Resort management provides clarity on insurance processes, guest communication, and circulating footage following the flooding.

Badplaas, A Forever Resort, says internal insurance-related processes and assessments are being managed as part of standard operating procedure following the flash flooding that affected several facilities earlier this month.

Management said verifying videos and images circulating online remains difficult, noting that some material may relate to the recent flood, while other content could be from previous incidents.

To assist with accurate reporting, verified images have been provided for editorial use, showing the current status and ongoing clean-up operations.

The resort, responding to enquiries regarding potential insurance claims and possible civil action linked to the upstream farm where a dam wall reportedly collapsed and caused the flash flooding, said:

“Any insurance-related processes and assessments are being managed internally as part of standard operating procedure. Similarly, any considerations relating to the upstream incident remain under review. We are not in a position to comment further at this stage.”
