Share your ‘treasure’ with underprivileged

The Robin Hood Foundation is inviting people who have many items that they no longer need or use such as clothes, shoes, linen, accessories, stationery and toys to collect for communities in need.

UPPER Highway resident, Cindy Norcott, started the year with a positive attitude and has encouraged the community to make a difference from the comfort of their home or work place.

Norcott who is the founder of Robin Hood Foundation, said their theme this year is ‘Share Your Treasure’.

“I am inviting people who have many items that they no longer need or use to get a big box or black bags.

“People can start this challenge and on,1 February put in one item on the first day, then on 2 February put in two items and go up by one extra item per day for the entire month. It sounds easy until you get to 28 February where you need to find 28 items,” said Norcott.

To add to the excitement, each month, the foundation will be hosting lucky draws for those who participate and complete the challenge.

“There are wonderful prizes donated by some generous companies already on board with the drive,” she said.

All donations will be made up into large gogo bags for distribution to the poor and less fortunate in the surrounding communities, along with a bag of staple foods that Robin Hood will be supplying.

Norcott said their aim is to distribute thousands of these bags and food.

“People can donate clothes, shoes, linen, accessories, stationery and toys as long as it is in good condition. Let’s make this a meaningful year,” she said.
