R1.7 million pension stolen, suspect arrested in Camperdown
The teacher was allegedly defrauded of her pension by the suspect, who evaded police arrest for five years.
A 33-YEAR-OLD-MAN, who is suspected of stealing a teacher’s pension worth R1.7 million, will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today.
The man was arrested in Camperdown after he evaded police arrest for five years.

“It is alleged, during October and November 2015, the complainant was robbed of her hard-earned pension money, with the hope of the money being doubled. The complainant was a teacher when she resigned and was defrauded of her pension to the sum of R1.7 million,” said KZN SAPS spokesman, Captain Nqobile Gwala.
