Lodge Crafters knit with love

With just 15 months of knitting, the ladies at Pinehaven Lodge have made many items which have been donated in various places around the Highway area.

A KNITTING programme has brought so much joy for ladies at Pinehaven Lodge in Pinetown. With just 15 months of knitting, the Lodge Crafters have made many items which have been donated in various places.

One of the knitters, Celia Niederhoffer, said she just gets blown away when they meet every two weeks.

“The ladies never fail to deliver – they make the most beautiful items, including toys, blankets, socks, beanies and shoes. It is like each of us has found a niche as we all specialise in something.”

Another knitter, Joan Botha, said she enjoys knitting, and every time she finishes an item, she gives it a kiss to share love with anyone who receives it.

Jean Senogles, who collects the knitted items, said she is very impressed with the selfless work done by the Lodge Crafters.

“People in the Highway area have been generous with the wool donation as the knitters are always in need of wool to continue with their work, which is donated to various places, including children’s homes,” she said.

To donate wool, contact Sue Howels on 083 230 3081.
