Two arrested for murders of women and baby

Two suspects, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested in the afternoon of Thursday, December 11, in Silumaview, in Vosloorus, for the murder of two women, aged between 20 and 22, and a seven-month-old baby.

According to the Katlehong SAPS’s Capt Mega Ndobe, two men went to a house at Silumaview, occupied by the three people, and, without uttering a word, attacked them with knives, before dumping their lifeless bodies in a bath full of water.

A fourth victim, who was apparently outside the house when the attack took place, was also stabbed and left with two knife wounds to her upper body. The motive for the attack is, at this stage, still unknown.

The community of Silumaview managed to corner the suspects before they disappeared from the scene and handed them over to the police. When the police arrived, the men had already been severely assaulted.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene afterwards declared the two women and the baby inside the house dead, while the fourth victim was taken to hospital for treatment. Both suspects were also taken to hospital under police guard.

Two magazines with 11 rounds of ammunition were found and connected to the suspects. A knife believed to be the one used in the killings was also found on the premises.

Both suspects have been charged with murder and attempted murder.

The investigation continues.
