Police investigate murder and attempted murder

Katlehong SAPS are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder that happened on July 18 at Katlehong South.

Communication officer at Katlehong SAPS Capt Mega Ndobe said the murder happened in the morning.

“It is alleged that four victims were asleep when an unknown suspect fired gun shots through the window. Three of the victims including a 33-year-old mother, an 11-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl were seriously wounded when the gun shots were fired. The fourth victim, the father of the two children who were shot, was unharmed during the incident,” said Ndobe.

He said an eight-year-old girl died on the scene while her mother and a brother were taken to hospital by an ambulance where they are both fighting for their lives,” said Ndobe.

He said no arrest has been made and the police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.

“The police are appealing the community members to report to them should they know of any information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect. The communities are advised not to apprehend him as he is dangerous,” Ndobe said.

He said the suspect is alleged to be involved in the shooting of six people at the same area last month.

“During that incident, four died and two sustained serious wounds,” concludes Ndobe.
