
Katlehong North SAPS continued its efforts to clamp down on crime and criminal activities throughout their policing precinct by hosting several different operations, recently.
During the operations 15 suspects were arrested for various crimes.
Charges included rape, murder, possession of a stolen ID, fraud and possession of drugs.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested during the operations for child neglect.
The arrest was made after police found a young child wandering alone in the streets.
The child’s mother allegedly only reported the child missing a day after he was found by police. That is when she was arrested for child neglect.
The child was placed in the care of the grandmother.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
Katlehong North SAPS acting station commander Lt Col Nomthandazo Gumbi applauded the commitment shown by the members during the operations.

He further encouraged the community to report crimes and missing people to the SAPS immediately.
