Germiston SAPS nab two for drug possession

Germiston SAPS apprehend two men on a charge of drug possession.

While on patrol in Ostend Road, on Thursday, officers from the Germiston SAPS Task Team noticed a man acting suspiciously.

When he noticed the police he ran into a nearby house.

“The officers chased after him,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, the communications officer for the Germiston police.

“Once cornered, officers searched him and the room he was allegedly staying in and found 49 different types of drugs.

“A second suspect was found on the scene.

“Dagga and other drugs were found in his possession.”

The two men, aged 32 and 33 respectively, were arrested on a charge of drug possession.

“The estimated value of the drugs seized during the arrests was R12 000,” said Mabunda.

The pair have since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
