letter to the editor

There is no doubt that this case would not have seen the light of day had it been held in Limpopo.

Please allow me through our favourite lokshin newspaper, Kathorus MAIL, to voice my penny?s worth about the arrest of people who stole millions from the VBS bank.

I was born in Limpopo and I am now based in Ekurhuleni. I fully support the arrest of those responsible for looting the bank.

Far too many poor people in the province have lost their savings after criminals stole their pension savings.

And the fact that those arrested were transported to Gauteng where they appeared at the Palm Ridge Court last Thursday, is on its own proof enough that the authorities want to ensure effective justice against those accused.

What is sad about this case is that the suspects have stolen from the poor and the needy in the Limpopo province.

Pensioners and stokvel groups who had saved their money with the bank were the hardest hit.

Those responsible need to pay the price by going to jail for a long time.

I strongly believe there are many other big fishes who may be involved in this massive bank theft and they too need to join the rest of the suspects in court.
