The franchise manager, Thabile Dube, said they reached just over R20 000 in sales between 4pm and 7pm, of which Nkombi will receive 10 per cent.
At least R 2 015 will be directed towards Nkombi’s school fees, the new outstanding amount is estimated to be around R15 285.

“I would like to thank the principals of Landulwazi High School and Khehlekile Primary School for making this event a success, as well as everybody who participated, including my McDonald’s Alberton team,” said Dube.

McDonald’s and Nkombi worked hard to decrease the fees from approximately R20 000.

“I am happy because every bit makes a difference. The sales were three times more than the first event, which is great, but donations declined this time around,” said Nkombi.

The aspiring pilot still looks to raise an additional R70 000 for the rating towards the commercial pilot’s licence he is studying towards. He explained that the extra rating enables employment.

“I want to thank everyone who came to support, it is really appreciated. Those who could not make it to the event on Friday can still contribute by making direct donations. Reach out to me on by calling 078 876 3925,” said Nkombi.
