Time to enjoy the great outdoors
It’s time to venture out again with days getting longer and warmer.

What better way than to visit Melville Koppies Central (nature reserve and heritage site)?
The Koppies has a rich archaeological history and has been occupied at different times over the last 50 000 years.
The recently planned burn on some parts of the Koppies has once more exposed the stone walls of the homesteads of the early farmers that settled from about the 1200s.
Visit soon and see if you can spot the remains of the walls before the grass grows back and conceals the treasures that lie beneath it.
Melville Koppies Central is open every Sunday from 08:00 to 11:30 and there is no need to pre-book.
The cost for adults is R80 and R40 for children with season tickets for a year at R500 per adult also available. These are not transferable.
All income is used for the maintenance and security of the Koppies. Security on the Koppies is provided for and you can park in secure parking opposite the entrance at Marks Park in Judith Road, Emmarentia.
