Taxi crashes into a car, leaving 14 injured
This morning (January 31), 14 people were injured, two critically, when a taxi crashed into the side of a light motor vehicle on Black Reef Road in Dinwiddie.
ER24 and other services arrived at 11:10 to find the taxi and light motor vehicle in the middle of the road. Two men were seen lying in the car while 12 patients from the taxi were walking around.
Medics assessed the patients and found the two men in the car were in critical condition while the 12 from the taxi had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Fire services had to use the Jaws of Life to free the one trapped patient from the car.
Once released, medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured men with advanced life support before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
