Law enforcement agencies successfully seized two illegal firearms and apprehended over 350 individuals between Alberton, Germiston and Benoni.

In a bold move to enhance community safety, a cooperation agreement was signed on October 8 between national police and provincial authorities, signalling a new chapter in the fight against crime in the region.

Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza made a powerful statement during a crime-fighting operation, emphasizing that the agreement between the law authorities represents more than just ‘ink on paper’.

He said that they are demonstrating their commitment to Ekurhuleni communities by taking decisive action against criminality.

The operation was part of a coordinated effort involving Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu, Ekurhuleni district commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole, and the mayor.
