Suspects arrested in Vosloorus following Alberton robbery
Police and security teams detain several suspects in Vosloorus following a tip-off about criminal activity.
A group of armed robbery suspects was arrested following a coordinated intelligence-driven operation involving FOX Security Tactical, SAPS Katlehong North, and the SAPS Ekurhuleni Flying Squad.
The arrests came after information was received about a white Toyota Corolla reportedly used in a street robbery in Florentia, Alberton.
According to Fox Security, the suspects allegedly used a firearm during the incident.
Following the alert, law enforcement launched an immediate operation to track down the vehicle. It was later located in the Vosloorus area just hours after the robbery took place.
Officers maintained surveillance on both the vehicle and a nearby residence while awaiting backup.
Moments later, several men were seen leaving the house and entering the vehicle. Fox Tactical members, supported by SAPS units, then moved in and successfully executed a takedown operation.
A subsequent search confirmed that several of the men in the vehicle were directly linked to the Florentia robbery.
Police also recovered stolen belongings belonging to the victim inside the house where the suspects had been observed.
The suspects were arrested and detained at Alberton SAPS, where further investigations are underway.
Fox Security extended its gratitude to SAPS for their swift and effective cooperation, noting that the successful arrests were the result of teamwork and coordinated intelligence sharing.
