Youth to host fundraiser to support disadvantaged families

“We are inviting business people to sell and market their businesses, tattoo artists, hairdressers who want to come with their pop-up stores or any other local business.”

A group of young artists and business owners from the white house at Nfundo Park, Vosloorus, are planning to host their first annual fundraiser to support struggling families in the community.

One of the businesses involved is Tribal Tattoo Garden (TTG), its founder Monnamoholo Mahamo said their initiative aims to boost and help communities in need and to provide toiletries, sanitary pads and food among other things.

He said they are pleading with the Kathorus community to support the event and help make a difference by donating new or pre-loved clothes and sanitary pads.

“Some of our clients and community members have donated clothes and sanitary pads. We need more people to donate,” said Mahamo.

Thembelani Ntetye said they usually donate sanitary pads monthly with support from their clients. “There are children who need these items as they cannot afford them.”

Mahamo said they are working with councillors to identify families that are in need. “We are targeting community members and schools. Families will be identified and we will arrange to provide those packages for them. We want to reach out to poor families.”

He said when they host events they usually invite DJs from outside but this time they want it to be more interactive.

“We are inviting business people to sell and market their businesses, tattoo artists, hairdressers or any other business,” he said.

The event will be held on December 10, at 20631 Lefokotsane Street, Vosloorus.
