Ekurhuleni health district awards performing facilities
“We developed sustainable quality improvement plans and continuously monitor and support them through the district’s internal assessment team.”
Ekurhuleni Health District recently held an awareness event at Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital as part of recognizing the international month for quality assurance (QA) awareness, on November 25.
The purpose of the event is to award quality improvement projects and to sensitize and inform healthcare practitioners, the community and stakeholders about what quality assurance entails.
Among other issues address the six Ministerial Priority Areas namely Attitude, Patient and Staff Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Waiting Times, Availability of medicines and Cleanliness.
QA manager Beatrice Peloagae said the QA programme cuts across all programmes including areas of infection prevention and control, waste management, occupational health and safety and risk. It also includes key ministerial priority norms and standards, ideal clinic and hospital realization model, and wellness and health promotion among others.
“We developed sustainable quality improvement plans and continuously monitor and support them through the district’s internal assessment team. That is why other districts benchmark from us,” said Peloagae.
