Germiston has the first digital storytelling theatre in South Africa
The smart theatre programme will serve as an advanced training hub for performers, writers, directors and technicians.

With the introduction of smart theatre, the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) Dumisani Masilela Theatre in Germiston is the first in the country to have futuristic and digital storytelling.
The theatre, in partnership with the Arts and Culture Trust (ACT), collaborating with Soda World, will host an exclusive launch of this pioneering space designed to merge artificial intelligence, mixed reality, virtual reality and broadcast technology into live theatre production.
This will transform the way South African creatives engage with the world.
The theatre is known for promoting local talent, culture, and art.
The theatre serves as a platform for established and emerging artists offering performances of drama, dance, music, and poetry.
The smart theatre programme will be an advanced training hub for performers, writers, directors and technicians.
It will provide the tools to create, distribute and monetise their work across global digital platforms.
The exclusive launch of the event is March 19.
