Vosloorus water issues expected to continue until June 30

Some residents have no water or low pressure while the City works to fix the problem.

The City of Ekurhuleni has informed residents in parts of Vosloorus that repair work on the damaged Vosloorus Extension 9 reservoir is still ongoing.

The city said the repairs are extensive and require specialised equipment, with completion anticipated by June 30.

During this time, residents may experience low water pressure or, in some areas, no water supply at all, especially during peak hours and periods of high demand. To help manage the situation, water is being supplied through smaller reservoirs in the area.

According to the city, portions of Vosloorus Extension 2 are currently without water, while areas in Extensions 11, 13, and 28 are experiencing low water pressure.

To assist affected communities, roving water tankers have been deployed to various streets, including Zakhe Road, Zathu Road, Dikgwading Street, Tsie Road, Douglas Montseng Road, Xabashe, Sepeng Street, Mbatha Road, and Lenao Cl.

The city will continue to keep residents updated through its digital platforms and has thanked the community for their patience and understanding as work continues to restore full water supply.
