Quarterfinal draw for Nedbank Cup held

The Sunday matches also saw Richards Bay and Pretoria Callies claim victory and make their way into the quarterfinal.

After the final Nedbank Cup round-of-16 match on February 28, PSL and tournament sponsor Nedbank hosted the quarterfinal draw to confirm the last eight teams that will continue their journey in the tournament.

The draw took place after a thrilling match between Chippa United and Cape Town City at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, which saw the Chilli Boys securing their spot in the top eight.

The Sunday matches also saw Richards Bay and Pretoria Callies claim victory and make their way into the quarterfinal.

Due to the CAF Champions League, the Mamelodi Sundowns vs Polokwane City match scheduled for February 27 was postponed to March 10 at 3 pm at Loftus Versfeld.

“For over a decade the Nedbank Cup has been and continues to be the vehicle for emerging football players to live their dreams and challenge themselves against top professionals. Our aim at Nedbank is to continue supporting local football and giving players an equal opportunity to showcase their talent. As a bank that is involved in communities across South Africa, we hope to continue making a difference through the game we all love,” said Khensani Nobanda, group executive for marketing and corporate affairs at Nedbank.

Quarterfinal fixtures are as follows:

Black Leopards vs Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, Chippa United vs Richards Bay, Cape Town All Stars vs Pretoria Callies and Mamelodi Sundowns, and Polokwane City vs Orlando Pirates.
PSL will confirm final dates, kick-off times and venues in due course.
