Facelifted Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback pricing revealed
The new Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback will officially go on sale in South Africa from 1 April 2021.
The local arm of the German car brand Audi is introducing its refreshed RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback for the 2021 model year.Â
Scheduled to officially go on sale in Mzansi from April, the RS 6 Avant is priced at R2,070,000 while the RS 7 Sportback is slapped with a R2,173,500 price tag.Â
The RS 6 Avant’s body has been widened by 40 mm on each side with broad flared wheel arches while the RS 7 sits low to the ground as well as 40 mm wider than the normal model.Â
The front-ends of both models are equipped with a new hood together with a power dome, flatter, sportier headlight structure with HD Matrix LED headlights, laser light and darkened trims as a standard.Â
There is a three-dimensional honeycomb structure within the Singleframe grille that is finished in gloss black and a new RS bumper.
The rear of the RS 6 Avant features a roof edge spoiler and an RS-specific bumper with a rear diffuser and design elements in gloss black. A standard RS exhaust system flows on both sides into oval chrome-coloured tailpipes.Â
Both models employ a 4.0 TFSI engine with 441 kW and 800 Nm. According to Audi, both the RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback models will dash from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds en route to a top speed of 250 km/h. Buyers can increase it to 280 km/h with the RS Dynamic package.Â
There is a mild hybrid system with a 48-volt main on-board electrical system that Audi claims combine maximum performance with high efficiency.Â
A standard 8-speed tiptronic transmission with a new launch control function sends power to all four wheels via the quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system.
The new Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback will officially go on sale in South Africa from 1 April 2021. The RS models come standard with a five year Audi Freeway Plan.
